A Love Letter. To: Me

A Love Letter. To: Me

I began a journey to find ways to spark my creativity and to give myself some therapy. So I read that a fun way to deepen self-love is to write a love letter to yourself. I share this with hope that you’ll write your own love letter and be reminded that the only love you need is your own.

My dearest Jessica.

You are the most beautifully imperfect person that I have ever met. You hold yourself to such a high standard. But it makes you more alive than anyone else that I know.

You are so forgiving, and I know that doesn't come easy for you. Not a day passes that I am not thankful for what you were willing to forgive so that you could truely heal.

I think you are strong. Not just physically strong, but the kind of strong that comes from going through things.

When you see brutality, you find the beauty in it. You're a survivor. You adapt. I dig that.

I love your smile. Not only is it beautiful, but I know it's not something that you give freely.

And I love it when you’re excited and you smile so hard that your cheeks hurt.

You sometimes apologize for being "overly emotional." But that means you care. It means you reflect on life. It means you live deeply. And how can that ever be a bad thing?

I love your courage — to cry, to leap, to give, to receive.

Thank you for trusting your heart over your head even when it means taking a risk, stepping into the unknown, and embracing uncertainty. I think that's the most vulnerable part about you.

I like the moments when you light up with a great idea. And how you look when you fight for it.

You’re always reading something, always searching for more knowledge, always expanding your skills, always longing for more awareness. Always craving to create something. I love that.

Your honesty is refreshing.

You're desperate to hear the unspoken words — I love how deeply you listen.

There is always something going on in your mind, a mixture of feelings, hopes, dreams, and ideas that no one knows about. It’s a secret that only one person knows.

You are worthy of great things.

You are intelligent.

You are beautiful.

You are strong.

I love you.

This was one of the most therapeutic things that I have yet to write. It made me emotional- high and low. Sometimes you just need to remind yourself that you're beautifully amazing. Here's an article that tells you more about why you need to write a love letter to yourself.  Your turn.
